Bio
Jones Andrews born Rob Andrew Jones Jr., came into the world on December 21st 1986 in Burlington, New Jersey. JA grew up playing everything ranging from Soccer, Baseball, Basketball, and Street Hockey. As a kid, when not playing sports, JA was either in his room playing his NES and Sega Genesis or was either out bike riding through the city with his friends. In 1997 on a random hot summer day in July, JA and his mother packed their bags and moved to his mother’s hometown of Roanoke Rapids, NC little did he know his life would be changed forever.
The transition from the fast city lifestyle to a much more slow paced rural lifestyle was one that Jones struggled with. Not having any friends and being an only child coupled with not having a positive father figure around, JA took to writing poetry to help to deal with the stress.
Jones as a freshman at North Carolina A&T State University placed his music on the backburner to focus on obtaining his B.S. Degree in Computer Science. After two summer internships in Minneapolis, Minnesota Jones felt that life was good until one day he realized how much music really meant to him. So with a renewed desire for making music Jones decided to pursue a career in music, his first love.
After releasing “The PRE Preface”(2010) & FSM(Flight School Music) compiliation mixtape “First In Flight, Last To Land”(2010), Jones decided to start a 32 Week long project titled, “32 Tuesdays” which was sponsored by RefinedHype.com and Cosigned by DJBooth.net which later spawned the releases of two mixtapes, “Halfway Home”(2010) & “Came A Long Way: No Place Like Home”(2011). Jones has also shared the stage with the likes of Wiz Khalifa, Big KRIT, Cyhi The Prynce, Kendrick Lamar, Dom Kennedy and many others. So now with a strong NC following Jones Andrews is beginning to build the foundation required to have a successful career.
